What is the Difference between PAN and Rayon Graphite Felt?
PAN (PolyAcryloNitrile) and Rayon are two different base carbon fiber materials. PAN Graphite and Carbon Felt is cheaper and has longer life time, it’s more commonly used as the insulation layers of Furnace. Rayon Graphite Felt has lower thermal conductivity and doesn’t make the workers itch when installing, but Ryaon’s price is higher and oxidization resistance is lower than PAN. So some customers, especially the solar giants like Longji and Zhonghuan, use PAN in the inner half of the furnace insulation layers, for lower cost and longer life time, then they use Rayon in the outer half, for its better insulation performance to reduce the electricity consumption.
