Properties of Carbon Fiber Composites

Release time: 2017-02-09

Carbon fiber reinforced resin composites have been widely used in aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, petroleum, chemical and other industries. However, the surface of carbon fiber has inertia, which affects the mechanical properties of carbon fiber composites and limits their application.

Carbon Fiber Multiscale Reinforcement, the composites of traditional carbon fibers at the micron scale and carbon nanotubes at nanoscale, can significantly improve the interface properties of carbon fiber composite materials, thus improving the overall performance of carbon fiber composite.

In addition to the above-mentioned structural reinforcement materials, carbon fiber has been extensively studied as functional materials in recent years due to its excellent electrical properties. Because of its low density and good conductive properties, carbon fiber-based modified materials have excellent performance in electromagnetic shielding and absorption, and are increasingly used as the base material of absorbing materials. Carbon fiber itself has excellent dielectric loss properties, and can be used alone as a light absorbing material. Therefore, the carbon fiber with magnetic inorganic nano-coating is expected to become a structural enhancement of the new wave absorbing material.
