Permeability is a key part for PEMFC bipolar graphite plate. For the purpose of measuring the permeability of flexible graphite plates, we make permeability testing equipment. And then we can investigate the permeability of flexible bipolar plate depended on its density by this equipment.

As we all know, the exploration and developing process for rolling production line for flexible graphite plate was introduced in the past. We have also explained the process course and main technical specifications. The composition of the line was also described. The important points in design, manufacture and commissioning phases have been analyzed. The line speeds up the key substitution process. It is illustrated that the domestication instead of imported machine is the direction for national technical progress.

We measure the tensile strength compression and resilience rates of flexible graphite plates, and also investigate the effects of exfoliated volume of expandable graphite on its mechanical properties. We found that the tensile strength of FG, a kind of interior static friction, originates from interlocking of exfoliated graphite with rough surfaces. The interior micro-structure of flexible graphite was also characterized by SEM , XRD and AFM , and then the influences on the mechanical properties of flexible graphite plate were studied.
