Purifying aluminum liquid and eliminating internal defects of aluminum products have been paid more and more attention by aluminum processing field all over the world. The industrial practice shows that bubble floating method is one of the most effective methods to purify aluminum melt at present. The so-called bubble floating method uses rotating sprinkler or graphite rotor to spray lazy gas into aluminum liquid to achieve purification.
Graphite rotor is the key component of rotating injection equipment. The quality and life of rotor are related to the quality of aluminum alloy melt. Because oxidation and wear of graphite rotor are the main factors affecting rotor life, it is very important to improve the quality of rotor.
Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate can be achieved by heating reaction of alumina with orthophosphate. The graphite rotor was impregnated, pressurized and solidified with aluminum dihydrogen phosphate in vacuum. The density of graphite rotor will be increased from 1.6g/cm³to 1.7g/cm³. The service life of the graphite rotor is more than 5 times longer than that of the original treated graphite rotor, and the cost is only 1% higher. The process also enhances the strength of graphite rotor and prolongs the service life in the process of aluminum purification.
