Graphite thermal field is the core part of vacuum resistance furnace. Its quality directly affects the performance and operating cost of the furnace. The design of graphite thermal field is varied. Different technological processes determine the corresponding design schemes of graphite thermal field. The graphite thermal field of most vacuum resistance furnaces consists of four main components: heater and its connecting parts, thermal insulation parts (or reflective screens), support components of graphite thermal field, hearth for carrying work piece. Due to material or service life problems, these accessories often need to be replaced on a regular terms. Here we will introduce how to replace and clean these accessories of graphite thermal fields.
1. Graphite accessories that have reached the end of their life need to be replaced in principle (or please let experienced people to identify and judge whether it will continue to be used.). For those accessories whose life expectancy has not reached the replacement period but have been abandoned, they need to be sealed in plastic bags. Then pack the plastic bag into the carton and clearly mark the furnace number, the number of stoves, the reason for the change, the source, the date, and take good care of it.
2.For some graphite accessories that are damaged (e.g. one of the three valves is broken) and the service life is not over, they can be used or replaced again by putting together a complete set.
For sealed preserved graphite accessories, they are recommended to be used on a purified furnace.
3.In order to avoid sundries polluting raw materials, the following sundries need to be cleaned, e.g. oxide on graphite thermal field, silicon infiltration on graphite parts, and foreign bodies attached to diversion tube and heat preservation cover when disassembling the furnace. Operators should gently handle graphite parts and pay attention to the safety of personal and graphite parts.
4.In order to protect graphite accessories, we should strictly accomplish heating, melting materials, remelting, furnace shutdown, etc.,strictly in accordance with the operating rule. After disassembling the furnace, we should carefully check and record the status of seed and graphite thermal field accessories in detail. The graphite thermal field accessories that appear in the muggy furnace should be recorded in detail.
5.Check the cracks in graphite accessories: In particular, we need to check whether there are cracks in graphite crucible, graphite tray, graphite crucible rod, heater, insulation tube and guide tube. In principle, these graphite accessories can continue to be used without the above defects. If there is a crack, we should report to the workshop supervisor immediately and make a replacement. If silicon is found somewhere, we should also judge or report to the workshop director. Before the expected service life of 5 stoves, the monitor is responsible for the inspection and examination of cracks in graphite accessories . After the expected service life of 5 stoves, the workshop supervisor shall be responsible for the inspection and examination of cracks in graphite accessories.
6.Make a detailed record of graphite thermal field accessories with accidents and problems. And subsumed it into the designated place to prevent confusion.
