Purification and Graphitization of Graphite Materials

1. Place graphite or carbon products into a graphite crucible in the furnace. Heat up to 1000 and add nitrogen or argon. Continue to heat up to 2000 and add chlorine. Then continue to heat up to 2300, and inject chlorine gas. Stop heating when the temperature rises to 3000~3300. Chlorine is added to reduce the temperature below 1500, and then nitrogen or argon is fed into it for more than 10 hours. The ash content of graphite products obtained by this technique is less than 0.00011%. The utility model can reduce the power consumption, and has the advantages of simple process, stable quality of graphite products, energy saving and low cost.

 

2. First, the temperature is raised at the rate of 5/min. When the temperature of graphite crucible in the furnace is above 1500, nitrogen or argon is injected into the furnace at a flow rate of 1~5m³/h.

 

3. And then continue to heat up at the rate of 5/min. When the temperature reaches 2000, chlorine gas is injected at a flow rate of 1~5m/h.

 

4. At the rate of 5~30/min to 2300, bromine or fluorine-containing gas was injected at a flow rate of 1~5m/h. Fluorine-containing gases are freon or fluorochlor. Stop heating until the temperature rises to 30003300. Then the flow rate of 1~ 5 m³/h was reduced to below 1500. Then nitrogen or argon was injected at a flow rate of 1~5m³/h to keep it for about 10h to obtain graphite products.
