Graphite crucible belongs to ceramic products. There are a certain number of pores in the crucible wall, which is easy to absorb moisture.

So before the first time to use, the graphite crucible must be preheated to ensure that no moisture remains in the crucible wall. It is best to place the graphite crucible at the edge of the furnace with temperature for baking for more than 24 hours. During this period of time, the graphite crucible needs to be rotated several times to make it evenly heated, so as to avoid the thermal expansion of the graphite crucible caused by the heating up too quickly, and the bottom drop, delamination or burst.

After the first preheating, the graphite crucible usually does not need to be preheated again if it is used continuously. Unless the crucible is exposed to wet environment once again, it needs to be preheated again.
