Wire-cutting of Graphite is Slower than that of Copper

Release time: 2020-01-05

Because the melting point of graphite is much higher than that of copper, graphite is more difficult to be machined by wire cutting. But it is important to note that most related industries, such as graphite manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and production line manufacturers, have long been working on this problem.

People can use the latest equipment (such as laser processing, high-pressure water knife) to process qualified graphite products. If it is necessary to use wire cutting processing, in principle, we recommend that customers use fine grained graphite products. Especially for the thin bar electrode, the flushing pressure should be greatly reduced. Comparing with coarse particles or conventional graphite products, graphite products with fine particles are able to provide higher process safety and feed speed during wire-cutting process.

Many graphite electrodes can be machined by meanings of the 4-5 axis milling machine. If there is really no other way, then people can also use copper electrodes.
