Purpose of Calcination of Graphite Solid Material

Release time: 2020-03-13

Calcination is to heat various solid graphite raw materials at high temperature under the condition of isolating air. Calcination is an important process in graphite production.

Due to the different coking temperatures or geological age of various graphite solid graphite raw materials (such as petroleum coke, bituminous coke, anthracite, metallurgical coke), moisture, impurities or volatiles are contained in the internal structure of solid graphite raw materials. If these substances are not removed in advance, they will inevitably affect the quality and performance of graphite products.

In graphite production, petroleum coke and anthracite are usually calcined in large quantities.
