Flake graphite can significantly improve the conductivity and lubricity of graphite products.

Flake graphite can also reduce the hardness of graphite products. Flake graphite is commonly used in pure carbon products to reduce the resistance coefficient and wear of graphite products. But the addition of flake graphite will significantly reduce the mechanical strength of graphite products.

Therefore, it is not advisable to add too much flake graphite (except for some soft electrochemical graphite brushes) to any product that is to undergo graphitization.
