The gasification reaction of graphite follows the following steps:

1.     Reaction gas transfers to graphite surface

2.     The reaction gas is adsorbed on the surface of graphite

3.     Reaction on the surface of graphite

4.     Desorption of generated gas 

5.     The gas is transferred in the opposite direction

Steps 1 and 5 above are physical processes, and the rest are chemical processes.
