The change of raw materials of graphite products during calcination is complex. This change includes both physical and chemical changes.

The change of raw materials of graphite products in the stage of low temperature drying (mainly removing moisture) is basically a physical change. However,this change is mainly chemical at the stage of volatilization. This chemical change completes the decomposition of aromatic compounds in graphite products and the condensation of some compounds.
