The requirements of modern graphite processing industry for graphite products are mainly developed in the following two aspects:

On the one hand, we require high purity and large-size crystalline flake graphite.

On the other hand, we require graphite products to be ultrafine (such as less than 1μm or 0.5μm).

The main purification method of graphite is chemical purification. The mature process of chemical purification of graphite is to make the carbon content of graphite reach 98%~99% by melting caustic soda and graphite at 700℃, then washing them to be neutral, then adding hydrochloric acid to wash. There are also manufacturers using hydrofluoric acid to produce high-purity graphite.
