A few years ago, we generally thought that the surface quality of the parts processed with graphite could only reach VDI18. However, it has been shown that the surface quality of graphite materials can reach VDI12 or higher.

This standard does not apply to all graphite materials. Besides, traditional EDM machine tools or conventional graphite can not meet this standard.

In order to obtain such surface quality, various production conditions must reach the best fit with graphite materials. In this case, the size of graphite parts, machining process and the choice of graphite types are important factors.
