The main reasons for the soft spot on the surface of graphite die include the following two points:

(1)  The surface of graphite mould has oxide skin, rust spot and local decarburization before heat treatment.

(2)  After quenching and heating, the cooling quenching medium is not selected properly, or the impurity in the quenching medium is too much or aging.
