1.Density

The higher the density of graphite, the higher the surface finish of the electrode it produces. For EDM, the loss rate increases with the graphite density. Therefore, choosing the appropriate density of graphite electrode material is very important for EDM processing.

2.Grain Size

The smaller the grain size of graphite, the higher the surface finish and the lower the loss rate.

3. Modulus of Elasticity  

The higher the elastic modulus of graphite, the lower the wear rate and the workpiece is relatively easier to be finely processed.
