The purification of graphite contains the following 2 methods： 

Physical high-temperature gasification method

Chemical acid-base melting method

Different methods obtain different levels of graphite purity. The alkali melting method commonly used in industry can purify graphite to more than 99%, while high temperature gasification method can make the purity of graphite to more than 99.9%.
