Application Characteristics of the Graphite Mold

In mechanical processing, a large number of graphite materials are used as molds for pressurized casting, centrifugal casting, and sintered tungsten carbide. Such as train wheels and precision parts can use graphite molds.

 

Graphite molds can be reused multiple times. The surface of the casting, produced by graphite molds, has a high finish, and some parts can be used directly without further treatment. Graphite materials used as casting molds can be composed of coarse granularity, while graphite used for precision casting parts must be of fine granular structure. The number of graphite used in mold manufacturing in China is relatively large.

 

In various kinds of graphite molds, the quality requirement of graphite, especially by continuous casting of metal, is very strict. The specific performances of graphite are as follows: high thermal conductivity, good thermal stability, good heat resistance and impact resistance, good lubrication, no infiltration with the molten metal, no reaction with the casting metal, and easy to be processed into molds of precise size.
