How Can a Graphite Crucible Work Stably for Long Periods at High Temperatures?

Release time: 2022-02-14

Graphite has the following physical characteristics: high temperature resistance and special thermal shock resistance.

1 The melting point of the graphite is extremely high. The melting point of graphite in a vacuum environment is 3850. The sublimation temperature of graphite at low pressure is 2200. Different from ordinary materials, when the temperature rises, the strength of the graphite crucible does not soften, but increases, and the tensile strength of the graphite doubles at 2500.

2 The thermal expansion of graphite is anisotropic, so its macroscopic thermal expansion coefficient is small. In the case of sudden change of temperature, the volume change of graphite is not large, coupled with its good thermal conductivity, so the graphite has good thermal shock resistance.
