The CVI(Chemical Vapor Infiltration) process of CFC consists of the process of the cracking of hydrocarbon gas under high temperature conditions, and the thermal deposition of carbon on the surface of the carbon fiber inside the prefabricated body. That is, the process of gradually filling the internal pores of the CFC prefabricated body by increasing the thickness of the pyrolytic carbon layer.
Since the CVI is a process of gradual deposition on the CFC surface, the fiber damage caused by volume shrinkage during the liquid phase immersion-carbonization process is avoided.
The CFC made from the CVI process has even better performance, and thus becomes an important technique for the preparation of CFC.
