The friction and wear resistance properties of CFC are briefly described as below.

The microstructure of the CFC is a chaotic graphite structure with a friction factor higher than that of pure graphite.

In addition, CFC has the advantages of low density and high thermal conductivity. The friction performance of the CFC used as friction material for aircraft braking remains stable when the temperature of the friction surface reaches above 1000℃, which is not available by other friction materials.
