The basic concept of manufacturing CFC through the pyrolytic carbon by the CVI process is very simple, which can be divided into the following 2 steps.

Step 1: Connect the hydrocarbon gas into a chemical vapor deposition furnace with CFC preform.

Step 2: Crack the hydrocarbon gas under high temperature conditions and deposit the pyrolysis carbon.

However, the deposition process of pyrolysis carbon is extremely complex, which is the result of the synthesis of complex physical and chemical processes.
