The Densification Process of the CFC

Release time: 2022-04-08

For the preform of the CFC, the internal pore is gradually filled with pyrolytic carbon and the porosity decreases during the densification process.

Closed pores and micropores of less than a few microns in diameter will finally be formed in the CFC. Micropores have high A/V values and are difficult to be dense. These closed pores and micropores make the densification rate of porous fibers much less than 1.

Reducing the deposition rate and overcoming the surface sealing phenomenon of CFC can facilitate uniform deposition inside and outside.
