The Relation between the Thermal Conductivity and the Thermal Gradient of the CFC

Release time: 2022-04-13

Due to the low thermal conductivity of the porous low-density carbon felt, a thermal gradient is formed inside the preform of the CFC.

The pyrolytic carbon used for the CFC is firstly deposited in the hottest region. When the region becomes dense, its thermal conductivity increases, decreasing its thermal gradient.

As the deposition of the pyrolytic carbon used for the CFC proceeds, the temperature gradually increases from the side near the graphite heater to the side away from the graphite heater.
