As the deposition process proceeds, CFC with good thermal and electrical conductivity is formed after the pyrolysis region is densified.

Comparing with graphite and CFC, the prefabricated carbon felt can be treated as an electrical insulator.

Therefore, each new deposition layer will act as a resistance element and the original heater to form a new heater for heating the outer carbon felt of the uncompacted CFC.
