A brief introduction to the PyC coating of CFC is presented.

A pyrolytic-carbon coating is prepared on the surface of the CFC by thermal decomposition of hydrocarbons at temperatures between 1300~2100℃. According to the shape of pyrolysis carbon under polarized light, it is divided into three categories: isotropic, layered and cylindrical pyrolysis carbon.

The isotropic pyrolysis carbon used for the CFC has no orientation. Layered and cylindrical pyrolysis carbon are highly oriented, and their base faces are parallel to the surface of the deposited matrix.
