Transmission electron microscopy used for the CFC is briefly presented in the article.

The tissue types of pyrolytic carbon in CFC can be well distinguished by transmission electron microscopy.

However, the preparation of CFC samples used for the analysis of transmission electron microscope is more difficult and even more expensive compared to SEM. So transmission electron microscopy is not as convenient to use as SEM. However, such qualitative characterization still has great advantages over polarizing microscope.
