Effects of the Fiber Type and the Woven Structure on the Thermal Properties of the CFC

This article briefly introduces the influence of the fiber type and the woven structure on the thermal properties of the CFC.

 

Since the thermal expansion coefficient of carbon fiber is less than that of carbon matrix, and the thermal conductivity of carbon fiber is much greater than that of carbon matrix, so the type of carbon fiber in CFC and the preformed structure have different effects on the thermal properties of CFC.

 

Different kinds of carbon fiber can affect the thermal properties of the CFC. Rayon-based carbon fiber has less thermal conductivity than PAN-based carbon fiber, while the latter thermal conductivity is worse than asphalt-based carbon fiber.
