Overall Thermal Conductivity of the CFC

The anisotropy of carbon fiber, the thermal conductivity difference between carbon fiber and matrix carbon, and the structure of carbon fiber and preform, all can affect the overall thermal conductivity of CFC.

 

After weaving with 2-2-6(x-y-z), we made the PAN-based carbon fiber T-50 into a 3D blanket, and then we used the high-pressure immersion process for four times to obtain a CFC with a density of 1.9g/cc.

 

The thermal conductivity of xy-direction and z-direction of this CFC are 149W/(m˙K) and 44W/(m˙K) at room temperature. The thermal conductivity of xy-direction and z-direction of this CFC are 246W/(m˙K) and 60W/(m˙K) at 1600℃.
