The Relation between the Heat Treatment and the Thermal Expansion Coefficient of the CFC

We have prepared the integral felt-based CFC by combining Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) and Pressure Impregnation Carbonization (PIC).

 

The axial thermal expansion behavior of CFC is studied under different heat treatment processes. We found that:

 

1 When the heat treatment temperature rises from 1800℃ to 2500℃, the thermal expansion coefficient of the CFC decreases at 1000℃.

 

2 When the number of thermal treatments increases from one to two, the thermal expansion coefficient of the CFC decreases at 1000℃.

 

It shows that the increase of the heat treatment temperature will reduce the thermal expansion coefficient of the CFC to some extent.
