The WC powder is added to the carbon fiber preform, and then the WC-modified CFC is prepared through the CVI process, the resin impregnation, and the carbonization.

The mechanical properties of CFC have become worse after the addition of WC phase, and although the ablation mechanism has been changed, the improvement of the ablation properties is not obvious.
