The ZrB₂-SiC-modified CFC is manufactured by the PIP process using the ZrB₂ ceramic precursor and PCS.

In the case of CFC-SiC, the line and mass ablation rates of the composite material after 120 seconds of oxyacetylene ablation have decreased by 66.8% and 85.1%, respectively.

With the increasing density of the heat current of the oxyacetylene flame, the ablation mode of the CFC has changed from oxidative damage to mechanical denudation.
