We manufactured the high-toughness Ti₃SiC₂ substrate for CFC in situ by using the technology of Silicon Infiltration Technology of Slurry Infiltration and Combined Liquid.

Replacing the residual Si by Ti₃SiC₂ improves the mechanical properties of the CFC-SIC composite.

The CFC-SIC-Ti₃SiC₂ composite can have a flexural strength of 203MPa and a fracture toughness of 8.8MPa*m^1/2.
