The CFC can be manufactured by three-dimensional angle interlocking structures or three-way orthogonal structures.
The results show that the mechanical properties of CFC with three-way orthogonal structures are better than CFC with three-dimensional angle interlocking structures.
After studying the influence of the structure of the preforms made from the orthogonal bedding layer and twill carbon cloth on the mechanical properties of CFC, we find that the interlaminar shear strength and axial tensile strength of the needling CFC reinforced by the weft-free orthogonal layup are higher than those of the needling CFC reinforced by the twill carbon cloth.
