The Relationship between the Antioxidant Properties of CFC and Boric Acid

Release time: 2022-09-22

After high temperature heat treatment, the oxidation resistance of CFC  is improved by adding boric acid to the carbon fiber felt.

After adding boron to carbon fiber, boron is easy to preferentially enter into carbon with disordered structure (ie, the core of carbon fiber used for CFC), which increases the grain size of the core and reduces the total number of isoactive sites of edge carbon atoms.

Under the same conditions, the oxidation degree of the core and the skin of the carbon fiber is not much different, thus improving the oxidation resistance of the CFC.
