According to the different modified objects of CFC, the modification technology can be divided into matrix modification and fiber modification.

Matrix modification refers to the method of introducing appropriate oxidation inhibitors into the carbon matrix of CFC to make it actively absorb oxygen under high temperature oxidation conditions, and spontaneously and preferentially react with oxygen to generate oxides in situ or transform into continuous and dense protective film, and finally improve the anti-oxidation and anti-ablative ability of CFC.

Fiber modification refers to improving the interfacial integrity by proper treatment of the surface of carbon fiber or directly introducing the third phase of antioxidant substances between carbon fiber matrix to act as the interface, so that CFC itself has strong antioxidant capacity.
