Magnetron sputtering can be used to prepare metal Ir coatings of CFC, which is simple and low-cost.

However, the binding force between Ir coating and CFC matrix prepared by this process is weak, the anti-erosion property is poor, the surface of the coating has cracks, and the anti-oxidation property is poor.

In addition, the method has a low deposition rate and can only prepare thin Ir coatings for CFC.
