The slurry is allowed to stand for a period to facilitate the reduction or elimination of entrained air bubbles.

Upon completion of degassing, the slurry is spread uniformly over the CFC substrate by brushing, or the CFC substrate is immersed into the slurry.

This condition is maintained until the coating thickness specified for the CFC is achieved.
